  • The remains of Dunseverick Castle in county Antrim, Northern Ireland. This is all that remains of a once significant structure. Just to the left is the Giants' Causeway.  The black and white rendering adds to the appearance of aging and decay.

  • In the heart of CastleIsland, County Kerry, Ireland is this building.  I love the colors.  On the top floor is the town's library which was originally a Carnegie Library.  We have a family member who was the librarian there for many years.  I really like how rendering this image in black and white totally changes it giving it more of an aged and timeless feel.

  • An abandoned house outside of Sligo, County Sligo, Ireland.  The configuration of the house and windows gives the impression that it has a face.  Presenting this image in black and white gives it a very different feel.

  • This bench is at the Loyola Jesuit Center inMorristown, NJ.  I was shooting at first light and was taken by the shapes, colors and textures of this scene. The black and white presentation retains much of the detail while bringing out a very winter feel.

  • We were driving along the coast road in Co Sligo, Ireland when we spotted this shipwreck.  I don't know any more about this ship.  This is my favorite rendering of this image.  The black and white format adds a timeless feel and a touch of the heartbreak that this is how the ship ended up.

  • One of the great things about walking around Savannah is that you never know what is around the next corner.  We came across a group of vintage police cars on display in front of a police station.  I like the black and white treatment as that's what they would have used in 1947.

  • This wonderfully ornate fence was in front of a magnificent house in Savannah, GA.  I looked at it both in color and black and white and I think this version tells so much more.

  • I spent a lot of time on this image.  The crucifix is life sized and outdoors so the wood is well weathered.  I think that black and white really brings out the start contrasts of Christ hanging between heaven and hell.

  • One of the many snack vendors around Faneuil Hall in Boston.  To me the fun thing about doing this in black and white is that if you ignore the prices, this could have been taken at almost any time in the last fifty or more years!

I've done this image in both color and black and white.  The differences are remarkable.  My family and friends are evenly divided as to which they prefer.  Which do you like better?

  • Atop the Cliffs Of Moher in County Clare, Ireland is a farm!  What amazed me was that this field is within 100 feet of the edge ofthe cliffs!  I have no idea how old this equipment is or whether it is still used.  I love how the black and white treatment creates a timeless feel for this image.

  • I was shooting some of the flowers in our back yard when I found a small group of dandelions ready to let their seeds fly.  When I was starting to post process in color the image was nothing special.  In black and white, it suddenly takes on a dramatic presentation.

  • This little rock pile is just across from the base of the Cliffs of Moher in County Clare, Ireland.  When we were there, the winds were howling.  You can see how rough the seas were.  This little rock pile caught my interest as it resisted all that wind.

Pay particular attention to their "headgear"!  The little girl handing him the wrench is another volunteer.  Brent is very talented, but the little girl made the show!<br />

  • This shot outside Faneuil Hall in Boston, was taken just after its predecessor.  Brent McCoy (BrentMcCoy.com) was performing with this little girl as a volunteer assistant.  She was trying to catch the ball int he hard hat and just missed it.

  • The Giant's Causeway rises out of the water like the start of a paved path from the north of Ireland headed to Scotland.  The stones are natural basalt.

  • Everything came together beautifully at this headstone in Sleepy Hollow Cemetery.  The angel sitting sad and humble on top of the headstone and is that a small tear under its eye?  The angel is framed by the praying hands, a single rose and a stone to mark someone's visit to the dear departed.

  • I was visiting my mom in Manhattan and by luck, there was a motion picture shoot going on down the street.  All of the vehicles in the picture are there for the shoot!  The intersection in the center of the image is about three city blocks from where I was standing.  That's where the action would eventually be.

  • Every fall we get together with my sister in law and her husband to can tomatoes.  We do it the pretty old fashioned way, but we do a lot of them.  While one batch was cooking, I decided to grab a couple of shots because this looks like anything but what it is!

  • This is perhaps the best known landmark in Gloucester, MA.  It is a tribute to the centuries of fishermen who have sailed from that port.

  • The Three Corners Pub in Brosna, County Kerry, Ireland.  There is precious little else in Brosna other than a very pretty church.  I was also amused at the cosmopolitan influence.  They serve three brews, two Irish and one Dutch!

  • This pier is in Doolan, County Clare, Ireland.  At first sight, I chuckled at the sign.  Seeing how rough the sea was, I quickly realized that when it's dark or there's a heavy fog, the end may not be so obvious!
