  • This little rock pile is just across from the base of the Cliffs of Moher in County Clare, Ireland.  When we were there, the winds were howling.  You can see how rough the seas were.  This little rock pile caught my interest as it resisted all that wind.

  • The Burren in County Clare, Ireland is an incredible place.  Everywhere there are rocks and outcroppings.  It is a marvel of nature.  You can see a typical (aka narrow and very windy) road in the foreground and the rocky landscape rising in the distance.  We were there on an overcast and rainy day so the sky was kind enough to add some drama.

  • The geological marvel known as the Burren runs through several counties in Ireland.  It seems to be a never ending array of stone that is dotted by a wide variety of very hardy plants.

  • In the late fall, the water levels are often low exposing some of the rocks that make up the stream bed.  As the water flows through and around the rocks it caries some of the fallen leaves but also creates interesting flows, pools and shapes.

  • The tide is starting to come back in on Cape Ann, MA.  The water throws up a small mist as it hits the rocks.  The golden light of dawn mixing with the mist creates a wonderful glow.

  • These rocks are at the Giants Causeway in County Antrim, Northern Ireland.  I don't know if they are a natural occurrence, but I really like how they look like some type of creature.  In the bottom right is a bit of debris, just to complete the scene.

I was fortunate to capture the the wonderful morning light in the clouds as well as the reflections and rocks that come with low tide.  I have taken some liberties in post processing to get the most out of the shot.
