  • Another constant in New York is contraction.  There must be some very major construction going on for this much overhead.  I'm thrilled at the way the lights lead you through the tunnel to the couple with the stroller.

  • New York City recently did some major renovations at Bennett Park in upper Manhattan.  I played in this park as a child.  One of the things that changed was the addition of this cannon.  I'm not sure how the people across the street from the park feel about it!

  • I was very fortunate, on a beautiful spring day in New York, I happened to turn around and saw this couple walking arm in arm. It is one of my favorite images. This couple has clearly been together for a long time. If you look closely, they are even walking in step!

  • We're still not sure why the city of New York included this cannon when they renovated Bennett Park in upper Manhattan.  I was very amused to capture not only the cannon, but the man and boy facing opposite directions while wearing matching yellow shirts.

  • Not quite a stairway to heaven.  Climb these stairs to get to the highest point in Manhattan in Fort Tryon Park.  This park is filled with history.  You can see one of the plaques on the wall tot he right.

  • Ft Tryon Park is one of those treasures that many people don't know about.  It has wonderful views of the Hudson River as well as the Cloisters.  These benches sit in a secluded little area providing a beautiful view of the river and the Palisades.

  • This is an entrance to the New York City subways.  It is located at 183 Street and Fort Washington Avenue.  I don't know of many entrances that are built like this.  If you use this entrance you can do like the song says and "take the A train"

  • A wonderful way to see the countryside, a hot air balloon over Somerset county New Jersey.  Fortunately the blue sky and clouds make for a very nice background.

  • Late in the afternoon in a show covered area of Duke Farms, Hillsborough, NJ, I came upon this remnant of a tree.  The setting sun cast a wonderful golden tint on the west facing side of the tree as well as the surrounding trees.  The tracks in the snow add some nice elements and variation to the snow darkening in the failing light.

  • Two of the QuickCheck balloons coming in for a landing.  It is amazing the amount of skill and effort it takes to fly these.  You can see one of the support vehicles waiting for the ballons to land.

  • Everything came together beautifully at this headstone in Sleepy Hollow Cemetery.  The angel sitting sad and humble on top of the headstone and is that a small tear under its eye?  The angel is framed by the praying hands, a single rose and a stone to mark someone's visit to the dear departed.

  • Every fall we get together with my sister in law and her husband to can tomatoes.  We do it the pretty old fashioned way, but we do a lot of them.  While one batch was cooking, I decided to grab a couple of shots because this looks like anything but what it is!

I've done this image in both color and black and white.  The differences are remarkable.  My family and friends are evenly divided as to which they prefer.  Which do you like better?

  • A longer view of the north bound waiting room at the now abandoned Belle Mead station.  You can see a circular fireplace on the floor along with all the decay and graffiti.  Some of the graffiti uses very harsh language, but to me that fits with the rest of the image

  • This statue of Christ The King is located at the Loyola Jesuit Center in Morristown, NJ.  It is the focal point of a beautiful and peaceful garden.  This shot was taken in the early morning with the first golden rays of light creating a beautiful background.

  • I was shooting in the early morning at the Loyola Jesuit Center in Morristown, NJ when I turned around and there was the cat.  Obviously, it is not live.  I was amused by its position on the bench, the two different colored eyes and the setting in the snow.

  • This is something I was fortunate to come across in winter.  It looks like there might have been a lot of wasps living here in the summer.  I was taken by the symmetry of the hive as it both blends into the tree yet stands out.  The snow on top and the dead leaves around it are wonderful accents.
