  • I spent a lot of time on this image. The crucifix is life sized and outdoors so the wood is well weathered. I think that black and white really brings out the start contrasts of Christ hanging between heaven and hell.
    The Crucifixion_3118.tif
  • This bird feeder is sitting by itself in a field. The mandatory squirrel cone has the number 12 painted on it. Leaving this in plain black and white gives much more of a feeling of stark and cold.

    AngelsWatchingOver_1269.tif

    MourningAngel_1263BW.tif

The intersection in the center of the image is about three city blocks from where I was standing. That's where the action would eventually be.
    Making a Major Movie_4491.tif
  • A wooden backyard playhouse. All the fun things for a kid, slide, swings and a fort!
    Raised Wooden Playhouse_9438.tif

    Winter Landscape 2_3453.tif
  • There are so many elements to this image, the partially cloudy late afternoon sky, the trees, mostly bare, all the dormant grasses and the path through the snow.
    Winter Landscape_3439.tif

    Winter Landscape 3_3432.tif

    CastleIslandTownHall_3215BWu.tif
  • The remains of Dunseverick Castle in county Antrim, Northern Ireland. This is all that remains of a once significant structure. Just to the left is the Giants' Causeway. The black and white rendering adds to the appearance of aging and decay.

  • We were driving along the coast road in Co Sligo, Ireland when we spotted this shipwreck. I don't know any more about this ship. This is my favorite rendering of this image. The black and white format adds a timeless feel and a touch of the heartbreak that this is how the ship ended up.
    SligoDerelict_2744BW2u.tif

    Sphinxes2310BWu.tif
  • One of the great things about walking around Savannah is that you never know what is around the next corner. We came across a group of vintage police cars on display in front of a police station. I like the black and white treatment as that's what they would have used in 1953.

  • One of the many snack vendors around Faneuil Hall in Boston. To me the fun thing about doing this in black and white is that if you ignore the prices, this could have been taken at almost any time in the last fifty or more years!
    DSC_4007-1BWu-LR.tif
  • Atop the Cliffs Of Moher in County Clare, Ireland is a farm! What amazed me was that this field is within 100 feet of the edge ofthe cliffs! I have no idea how old this equipment is or whether it is still used. I love how the black and white treatment creates a timeless feel for this image.
    FarmEquipment_2942BW-5u.tif

  • Brent McCoy (Brent McCoy.com) performing outside Faneuil Hall in Boston. Notice the two "assistants" on either side of him steadying the ball he is standing on. Pay particular attention to their "headgear"! The little girl handing him the wrench is another volunteer. Brent is very talented, but the little girl made the show!<br />

  • Mount Auburn Cemetery in Watertown, MA dates back to before the Civil War. While touring this beautiful park, I saw this marker. It is sad in that it commemorates the deaths of three children. • As the song goes...In Dublin fair city, where the girls are so pretty, there lives a young lady named Molly Malone. This statue just sits on a street corner. The leprechaun and lad playing the pipes were fortunate additions. I wonder if she actually peddled her cockles and mussels on that street?
    MollyMalone_3346BWu.tif

    DSC_3414BWu-LR.tif
  • A longer view of the north bound waiting room at the now abandoned Belle Mead station. You can see a circular fireplace on the floor along with all the decay and graffiti. Some of the graffiti uses very harsh language, but to me that fits with the rest of the image

  • The Three Corners Pub in Brosna, County Kerry, Ireland. There is precious little else in Brosna other than a very pretty church. I was also amused at the cosmopolitan influence. They serve three brews, two Irish and one Dutch!
    ThreeCornersPub_3199BWu-LR.tif
  • Outside Bigelow Chapel at Mount Auburn Cemetery in Watertown MA is this sphinx. At first I viewed it almost as a parody on the Egyptian original. <br />
<br />
Having done some more research I learned that the chapel is dedicated to all those who fell in the Civil War. The sphinx is part of that memorial. The inscription reads <br />
"American Union Preserved<br />
African Slavery Destroyed<br />
By the Uprising of a Great People<br />
by the Blood of Fallen Heroes"<br />
It is in English on one side and Latin on the other
