  • Sleepy Hollow Cemetery os a beautiful and very peaceful place. I happened along this grave and was very taken by the two angels who looked to be guarding and protecting a loved one.

  • Everything came together beautifully at this headstone in Sleepy Hollow Cemetery. The angel sitting sad and humble on top of the headstone and is that a small tear under its eye? The angel is framed by the praying hands, a single rose and a stone to mark someone's visit to the dear departed.

  • I was very fortunate to find a perfect day to be shooting at the old Sleepy Hollow cemetery (of Headless Horseman fame). This stream flows through the cemetery and shows off some of the beautiful fall colors.

  • What a tranquil spot to enjoy the fall colors and the quiet rushing of the water over the mini waterfall. The wonderful autumn colors help to bring a feeling of quiet and peace on a glorious fall day.

  • In the late fall, the water levels are often low exposing some of the rocks that make up the stream bed. As the water flows through and around the rocks it caries some of the fallen leaves but also creates interesting flows, pools and shapes.

  • What could better describe the beauty of autumn and its glorious colors? The water is moving very slowly here creating some wonderful color rel=flections to enhance the wonderful reds, oranges, yellows and golds on the trees. Overall an oasis of peace and calm in a turbulent world.

  • This is the road that the Army of Northern Virginia took to surrender at Appomattox. I love the quiet peaceful view of the site where a terrible war ended.

  • We were at the Appomattox Court House national park on a very hot September day. This gentleman was the character interpreter for the military governor immediately after the surrender. I'm scratching my head to remember the Captain's name. He did a wonderful job in character. We were advised to ask "may I capture your image" or "please strike a pose" because in the 1860s "may I take your picture" would have been taken to mean I wanted to steal something!

  • This is a bit of whimsey. I was out shooting when I noticed this contented little cat sitting in the snow. I love the snow cap on his head as well as the details in his face, to say nothing of that inscrutable expression.

  • Every fall we get together with my sister in law and her husband to can tomatoes. We do it the pretty old fashioned way, but we do a lot of them. While one batch was cooking, I decided to grab a couple of shots because this looks like anything but what it is!

I decided to process this to look like it might have at the time.

  • The more I look at this image, the more I like it. After a storm, I came across this scene. I was amazed that the tree still had some leaves on it and that they still had color. The connections of ic onto the leaves makes a née contrast of both color and concept.
