  • While not the tallest cliffs in Ireland, the Cliffs of Moher in County Clare are truly magnificent. We visited them on a serious bad weather day. You can see how rough the seas are at the base. While we were visiting, we got hit by lots of rain and very strong winds. The clouds here give you an idea of conditions that day.

  • The weather was totally against us the day we visited the cliffs. There were gale force winds and intermittent rain. These flowers didn't seem to mind. They were growing at the edge of the cliffs. County Clare, Ireland.

  • Slieve League is among the highest cliffs in Europe. We drove through some of the remotest countryside we found anywhere in Ireland on a very rainy day to get there. While the Cliffs of Mohr are all tourist developed, we couldn't get to see the ocean, just the back side with this lone lonely house.

  • Atop the Cliffs Of Moher in County Clare, Ireland is a farm! What amazed me was that this field is within 100 feet of the edge ofthe cliffs! I have no idea how old this equipment is or whether it is still used. I love how the black and white treatment creates a timeless feel for this image.

  • Descending almost to the sea approaching Cushendall, county Antrim, Northern Ireland. The cliffs are covered in Ireland's emerald green and seem to just drop off into the sea. This is a beautiful area, mostly rural with plenty of sheep grazing

  • This little rock pile is just across from the base of the Cliffs of Moher in County Clare, Ireland. When we were there, the winds were howling. You can see how rough the seas were. This little rock pile caught my interest as it resisted all that wind.

  • Doonagore Castle in Doolan, County Clare, Ireland. We drove up a very steep and windy road to get to the plateau that ends at the Cliffs of Moher. As we ascended, the image of Doonagore got bigger and more prominent. I can only imagine how imposing it must have looked to an enemy trying to storm it.
